I'm starting with the basement as it is where I spend most of my time.
Everything but the chop saw is on wheels and is rolled out for use and rolled away afterwards. I'm a hobbyist woodworker with a tablesaw, bandsaw, portable planer and chop saw all stored in the garage. The house is on 1.375 acres and I could probably build a shop on the property but I can't justify the expense with 2 kids heading to college. The major problem with the garage and basement is the 7-0 ceiling height. I wish it was a 3-0 door - but I'll take what I can get. This garage setup gives me walk in/roll in access to the basement thru a 2-6 door. We park 2 cars in the garage during the winter but during the nice weather the cars stay outside. I live in a 1,500 SF ranch house with a 2 car garage underneath. I spend some time cleaning/ organizing and there is no real improvement. The problem is I have a lot of stuff and not so much room (by comparison to some on here) to store it. After spending a while here on the GJ and developing some bad habits I now need to reorganize things.
